Birthday napkins

I’m always searching for the perfect homemade present.  Something that is beautiful and useful, yet won’t take too much time to construct.  So I tried Film in the Fridge’s tutorial for rick rack napkins — and I wasn’t disappointed!

These napkins are great.  They are double-sided, which increases functionality, and are bordered by a bit of rick rack.

These napkins will compliment the quilted place mats that I gave the birthday girl last Christmas.  (I bought all the fabrics at one time with the intention of making this a two-part present).

All of the napkins have the same front – Nest by Valori Wells – but the backs are contrasting.  I made two with stripes and two with a flower pattern.

These will be in their new home by this afternoon.  I’m certainly going to make these again! Perhaps I’ll make the next set for the Professor and me – it would help us live more “green” and cut down on the number of paper towels that we use.
